Vitamin

Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 may be effective in helping restore natural hair to gray hair caused by a vitamin deficiency or disease. According to the US National Institutes of Health’s Dietary Supplements Administration, Vitamin B6 also helps maintain immune systems by supporting the organs of white blood cell production. Good sources of this vitamin include fortified cereals, potatoes, bananas, peas, poultry, seafood and sunflower seeds.

Vitamin B9
According to the US National Institutes of Health, an inadequate intake of vitamin B9, known as folic acid, can lead to permanent graying of the hair. Folic acid helps the body metabolize, use and make new proteins, as well as improving cellular function and ability to grow tissues. Food sources of this vitamin include beans, legumes, citrus fruits, rice bran, and other whole-grain foods. Also, according to the US National Institutes of Health, excess vitamin D will be excreted in the urine.

Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 deficiency can lead to premature graying of the hair. This type of deficiency may occur in vegetarians or in infants with mothers with vitamin B12 deficiency. Also, some people may not be able to get enough vitamin B12 from food sources because of medical problems such as surgery or gastrointestinal disease, thyroid disease or anemia. Blood tests can confirm the deficiency of this vitamin, so removing it can stop the hair from developing gray.
